Powerful microbiome analysis with Jupyter notebooks

One of the most useful parts of One Codex for our power users is our support for Jupyter notebooks right in the platform. These notebooks let you run arbitrary analyses on your data, without needing to worry about getting your data out of One Codex. We’ve seen users do all kinds of interesting analyses in notebooks, including biomarker detection and machine learning. Today, we’re announcing a significant upgrade to our Notebooks feature that will make creating and sharing interactive reports easier than every.

We’ve now made manipulating and plotting your data much easier and more extensible. This means that you can go from sequencing reads to custom interactive plots with just a few lines of code. Under the hood, we’ve made major changes to the data manipulation and plotting engine driving our One Codex SDK. Our library now automatically generates and renders plots interactively, so you can start exploring your data in detail. We’ve also added support for more sophisticated grouping logic so you can generate exactly the figure you’re looking for.

Lastly, we’ve added the ability for you to take your notebook and turn it into a professional-looking PDF report. Perform your analysis, add some descriptive text, then generate the report to share with your colleagues without leaving the Notebook. We’re currently putting together a showcase of example projects to help you if you’re new to Notebooks and Python in general, so we’re very excited to see what you come up with!
